• Use the Portfolio 1 Guidelines and Rubric to create a checklist. 
• Use the Revision Guide to annotate your essay
• Read & Discuss pp. 15-17 about Peer Review in the handbook 
• Read the Peer Review Guide as a way to prepare for next class
• Additional questions and discussion of grading criteria and questions about essays as needed. 

Assignment for Friday, March 6:
1. Make revisions based on teacher comments and your annotations from the Revision Guide
2. Bring a hard copy of your rough draft to class for peer review.

English 101 -- Plan for Monday, March 2

• Read pp. 79-81 in the handbook. Go over conclusions & introductions.
• Read Sample Summary / Response Essay passed out in class last week. 
• Review Double-Entry Journal
• In-class workshop on rough drafts.  Reminder:  Portfolio 1 is due Thursday, March 12
•  The rough draft will be submitted to me at the end of this class.

Assignment for Wednesday, March 4:

1. Create a Double Entry journal for the article you are writing about for Portfolio 1, if you have not already done so.
2. Read the Portfolio 1 Guidelines and Rubric and write down any questions you may have.  Next time, we will use these two documents to create a checklist.
2. Read the “Revision Guide."  This will be important to your approach to revising your Portfolio 1 Essay.
